Darren started with Young and Phillips Ltd in 1999, and apart from a short break with another accountancy practice between 2001 and 2003 he has been here ever since!
In 1999, Darren commenced our trainee accountant programme. Firstly studying with the AAT and then following completion of the AAT continued his training with the ACCA. In 2003 Darren qualified as a Chartered Certified at the tender age of 23!
Darren was appointed a Director in 2008 to coincide with the semi-retirement of Paul Young who was one of the founding partners.
Darren has over 20 years' experience working in practice, and has built up a vast knowledge in all areas of accountancy. He enjoys helping business’ to minimise tax liabilities and supporting them on a day to day basis.
Hobbies/Leisure Time
Outside of work Darren loves spending time with his three children, keeping fit and considering which classic car to buy next.
In 2012 Darren received his black belt in Tang Soo Do (Korean Karate) after several years of training. He also enjoys Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and weight training.
